Online Casino Style - News:
While those interested and participatory
in online gambling really need no further proof of how popular internet
casinos are, the evidence continues to roll in, with the latest numbers
from comScore showing that the industry is seeing more visits on the web
than ever before. The report, published for the numbers generated in July
2010, showed an overwhelming popularity for online gambling websites, even
a growth compared with the month of June.
The firm comScore focuses entirely on statistics, analyzing numbers across the board and releasing them to the public for opinionated dissection. This year, some of the more interesting numbers are coming back in relation to online gambling markets, as countries’ governments all over the world consider legalization over monopolies, or even prohibition. The strength of internet casino popularity could well be used by industry proponents to convince legislators of their point.
According to comScore’s most recent numbers on the topic, in July, online gambling websites generated a total of 13.4 million hits by visitors. Many of those visitors were non-regulars, event gamblers who signed on to take part in the excitement associated with the World Series of Poker tournaments unfolding in Las Vegas, hosted by the land-based casino group Harrah’s Entertainment. Hit increased further when the Main Event took center stage towards the end of the month. The activity jumped the numbers to 13.4 million, an 11 percent gain over the previous month of June.
"The World Series of Poker tournament brought out the competitive side of Americans in July, prompting millions to visit online gambling sites to test their card-playing skills," said Jeff Hackett, senior vice president of comScore Media Metrix. Leaders for the websites visited were led by Poker Stars, an online poker site with 2.4 million visitors. Full Tilt Poker wasn’t too far behind, logging 2.3 million hits, followed by Kingolotto and UltimateBet.com.
