The online gambling industry has lost one of its own this week with the news that a high profile representative of the affiliate world for internet casinos passed away in the intensive care unit of a Florida hospital this week. Not all the details of his demise have yet become available, though a statement was issued by his family confirming the news of Lou Fabiano’s death by his family, along with a request for privacy in their time of difficulty.

Fabiano was the founder of the still growing but recently successful Casino Affiliate Programs. The 47-year old man had played a significant role in the affiliate marketing sector of the internet gambling industry and died just a few days short of his birthday. He was one of the leaders in the affiliate marketing division, though not all of his career was easy. In fact, he and his partner Warren Jolly were at the center of the drama over affiliate relationships and appropriate disclosures that rocked the market in 2009, ultimately causing Fabiano to leave the company and partnership and pursue his own interests.

For all the tough times, though, Fabiano was well known for his ability to negotiate between marketing interests and more deeply connected affiliate programs. Called ‘The Professor,’ he was largely responsible for turning Casino Affiliate Programs into a success. He is survived by his wife Marie, as well as children and an extended family; he formally died of pneumonia, after battling a heart condition.
