While 888 is lamenting that the first
half of the year hasn’t gone quite as planned, yet another internet
gambling company is celebrating, with the release of the latest full year
results available for Centrebet. Its been one of the most profitable years
in the internet gambling company’s history, with a jump of 75 percent in
after-tax profits, up to $13.09 million for the fiscal period. CentreBet
International is one of the few internet gambling companies to be based
out of Australia. In fact, the Sydney-based firm announced that their EBITDA statistics were more than impressive as well, surging to $20.63 million, a jump of 80 percent from the previous year. Revenues in general were up 44 percent for a year-on-year basis, making it to $42.78 million, with the majority of the money coming in domestically as Australian betting activities accounted for 80 percent of all the earnings before taxes, interes, depreciation and amortization. "CentreBet has delivered an outstanding financial year result, reaping the rewards from strategic initiatives focused on growing Australian online market share,” said chairman Graham Kelly, continuing that “…Investing in leading-edge product innovation and demonstrated effective cost controls are paying off. The company is in very strong shape financially and is well positioned to benefit from expected continued growth in the industry." CentreBet joined the world of online gambling in 1992. Their activities have grown to include not only horse racing and sports betting platforms in Australia, but also though their UK branch, CentreBet UK Ltd. Their online casino platforms are licensed to operate in Malta. |
