Though it seems like just yesterday that
the 2009 EiG exposition found its conclusion, it is once again time for
the convention, with this year’s meetings and forums taking place in
Copenhagen, Denmark. The expo has been scheduled for October of this year,
running between the 19th and the 21st at the Bella Center in Copenhagen.
While last year was a slew of new platform ideas, and game introductions
being thrown about, his year’s goals are a little more focused, as the
industry will come together to try to decide the path for the future for
internet gambling as a whole, using the conference as an opportunity to
get all on the same page. Questions to be answered by a host of internet casino experts as well as leaders for the market are already being presented, and debated in the online forums, with hot topics including such inquiries as how the newly passed legislation being referred to as the European Commission’s Green Paper bill might affect the online gambling market? Obviously, the developing and newly liberalized markets in both Italy and France will no doubt be analyzed to every last detail, with representatives now wondering how the high taxes agreed upon by the French might affect the bottom line for operators. The schedule of events, talk-backs, and meetings is impressive, with a high profile list of speakers and participants already being released. The collection includes not only the chief executive offices for some of the most powerful internet gambling companies in the world – such as Jim Ryan, CEO, Party Gaming; Simon Burridge, CEO, Virgin Games; H.C. Madsen, CEO, Danske Spil; and Gigi Levy, CEO, 888 Holdings – but also politicians, legal experts, and officials from the regulation sector as well. |
