Poker fanatics vying for an update to the latest in the World Series of Poker Europe will want to read on, with the last two days in London unfolding to plenty of excitement at the tournament. International poker aces from all over the globe, representing the live circuit as well as online gambling industry have come together for a rather healthy turn-out, exciting new players for the chance to play against their idols, and giving fresh meat and competition to more experienced players.

The main event kicked off with 346 poker players signing up to battle through the game, each hoping that they will come out on top. The buy-in price was rather steep, costing each £10,000 to participate in the game. Phil Hellmuth, a player that will be easily and well recognized by the internet casino community, came out strong, dominating the first day of play, and setting a dramatic stage from the get-go, entering the Main event on a red double decker bus, along with a 16 member band, and 11 models singing Lady Gaga’s Poker Face.

Hellmuth was no where near the only major player to make significant strides early on, though some poker names that were expected to go the distance were eliminated very early on, disappointing their fans. For those still in the game, day one included action from well-loved players like Michael Mizrachi, Howard Lederer, Andy Bloch, Scott Seiver, and even two who are awaiting the conclusion of the US World Series of Poker, November Niners Joseph Cheong and Jonathan Duhamel.

The second first day brought in another 209 entrants, with 137 showing up (albeit not necessarily with singing models) the first day. Day 1B brought in the likes of Neil Channing, Patrik Antonius, Phil Ivey and Phil Laak, rounding out the famous-ness of the competition. Unfortunately for Tom ‘durrr’ Dwan, despite his overwhelming domination of the online gambling sector, he was eliminated, not even making it to Day 2. One hundred ninety five survivors will move on to the second day of action.
