Anyone with even half an ear to the online gambling world knows that at least in Europe, the trend of the last few years has been liberalization and legalization of internet casinos. The most recent to make a change, coming back to the German market is that of Tipp24.com, which indicated this week that they were strengthening ties with lottery brokerage partners in the hopes that the German market would soon be jumping on the liberalization bandwagon.

Recent rulings by the European Court of Justice determined that German law cannot favor monopolistic standards, giving hope to online gambling companies looking to the future in the nation. Tipp24 is based out of Hamburg, but has distanced themselves from the German market in recent years to more closely comply with the laws. They announced this week that they were in preparations to re-enter the lottery brokerage market, having made the first step with the sale of their outstanding shares for the price of more than €9 million.

The profits from such a sale will reportedly be used primarily to rebuild their online brokerage for state-run lotteries in Germany. The next step will be to secure the necessary partnerships with the different lottery companies in neighboring states. They have made similar moves before, giving brokered stakes worth €1.5 billion before. This time, Tipp has decided to sell their treasury sales to ease the tax path for the future.

"Following the European Court Of Justice's rulings, we are now setting a clear sign for the reestablishment of our brokerage business in Germany," said the chief executive for Tipp24, Hans Cornehl. "We aim to resume our former very successful cooperation with lottery companies and begin brokering the state-run Lotto once again via the Internet."
