Another support company for the
online gambling industry is going down this week, as the e-cash processor
ePassporte confirmed that they would be closing their doors after seven
years of operation. They cited the closure as fiscally necessary, “due to
lack of revenue and circumstances beyond our control.” The statement
issued by the company said that the closure would be effective immediately
as they have spent recent weeks notifying their clientele and allowing
them to make appropriate preparations in finding a new processor. It will take a little bit of time for the company to completely disband, and while most of the employees associated with ePassporte have already been released, a key team will remain behind to deal with the last few online casinos using the now defunct services. The ePassporte website states that account holders will be given instructions on how to retrieve the rest of their funds. "A small group will remain to organize wallet requests and help disburse funds," the statement continues. "This will mainly be a process to protect wallet holder funds from fraud. We expect this will be a simplified process, and as we receive the necessary information, our small remaining staff will process requests as quickly as they can. Please direct your wallet questions, concerns and requests to walletrequest@ePassporte.com.” St. Kitts bank is working with the bankrupt company to get both personal account holders and internet casino companies’ accounts closed in a timely and organized manner. Funds will likely be available through Visa Electron Cards, or through bank wires, depending on the account. |
