It is a possible motive behind the string of casino robberies plaguing the state of Montana. The events have not yet been confirmed as connected to one another, the only similarity between the robberies being that each suspect has worn a hooded sweatshirt. Gabby’s Casino was recently struck in Billings, Montana in the late night hours, well past midnight when patronage is at its lowest. This occasion featured a single perpetrator, described to be of average height and build, and wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, pulled up over his head. Previous raids have reported single men, or two men working together, always armed and always wearing hooded sweatshirts. Descriptions of the criminals vary without consistency. Police cannot confirm as of yet whether they are looking for one group, or whether the initial successful thefts simply inspired copycats in their time of need. Ongoing investigations continue, though the priority of ending the string of crimes seems to be low on the list. Since the casinos hit have been in different counties, police cooperation has been hindered by distance. Unfortunately, for anyone who owns a casino, they may be on their own until the officials’ luck breaks or the thieves get bored.
