The dominant force Cryptologic has recently signed a deal that will reintroduce the online casino industry to the former Soviet Union. Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States have agreed to a contract that grants exclusive licensing to Kurastica for distribution in the region. The arrangement is the first of its kind for the gambling industry in this part of the world.

The contract transcends a period of years, and millions of dollars in order to grant Kurastica the power to distribute some of the world’s top online casino software to companies in countries like Russia, in order for them to catch up to the world’s populace in the industry. The first period in 2009 will mark the goal for channels to open officially to Russian and CIS players. The expansion decision sprung from CryptoLogic’s desire to market and cater to the needs of the players across the globe, providing them with newer and the most state of the art games that internet gambling can offer. The newest measure is a big piece to bite off, but President and CEO Brian Hadfield seemed hopeful, especially after this deal was sealed. He spoke highly of CIS and their marketing potential, claiming them to have a “deep-rooted gaming culture, vast population and fast-growing Internet economy.” Kurastica is part of an internationally known operating company, strong within their own right and an efficient tool to introduce the former Soviet Union to online gambling, as they already have a solid reputation in the CIS.

Justin Thouin, another VP representative for Cryptologic echoed Hadfield’s confidence, stating, “This breakthrough into the CIS is another clear demonstration of our success in adapting CryptoLogic's software for different customers, different players and different markets.”

It’s clear that if CryptoLogic were able to establish themselves half so well as they have with the English-speaking market, they’ll be able to deem themselves successful. As one of the most powerful software providers on the globe, they offer their players more than 200 different casino games, as well as powering poker and blackjack sites. Gambling Online Magazine voted CryptoLogic the Top Casino Software aware for three years in a row. Not wholly stranger to the east, a strategic investment in the game of mahjong, with Mahjong Time in Asia has also (so far) worked to their advantage. Mahjong Time is currently renovating their practices to support a large expansion, set to include the most popular of games and pastimes for online enjoyment, worldwide.
