While Governor Steve Beshear enjoys his mini-victory in getting 141 website domain names granted temporary custody to Kentucky, websites are beginning to set up their own rebellions, with one of the most powerful, Golden Casino, at the front of the movement.

The hugely popular online casino has recently changed it’s domain name, changing from GoldenCasino.com to NewGoldenCasino.com in preparation for the fight against Kentucky Governor Beshear. Because the old site name was on his death list for websites, management intends to dodge the ‘shut-down’ bullet in the case that his motion goes completely through administration. The entire site’s software, links and associated data has already been transferred to the new website. Despite the efficient turn-over, the change has inevitably caused some confusion among the casino’s members. Many have sent emails and correspondence with the concern they’d fallen victim to a scam, or had been incorrectly redirected to an illegitimate internet casino. The new site, however, has been verified as a legitimate branch of the Golden Casino empire, and security measures are equal to those found on the old site.

In addition, Golden Casino has banned players from Kentucky in reaction to the Governor’s movements, trying to limit their liability as much as possible. The change was decided upon and made quickly, as the governor moved his bill through the legislation just as rapidly. The efforts come as a surprise to some as Kentucky has been known as a state very friendly to casinos in general, home to one of the healthiest horse betting economies in the nation. The Governor’s motives, reportedly, stem from his concern that rampant online casino game play will take away from land-based revenue for the state.

Since the establishment of the UIGEA, many online casinos have refused to accept American players at all; Golden Casino was one of the exceptions, offering free games to citizens of the United States, as well as Canada and Mexico. They are currently offering a $555 Sign-Up bonus; they are powered by Vegas Technology.
