The North American Poker Championship will take place and be hosted by the Fallsview Casino this year, beginning October 10th and running through October 16th. The tournament was taken by Scott ‘Big Riskky’ Clements during the Season 6 World Poker Tour in 2007. The casino is named for its amazing view of Niagara Falls and was established in 2004 and cost over $1 billion to build. It is regaled as the largest gaming facility in Canada, and is built on a cliff overlooking Horseshoe Falls. The casino on site offers over 3,000 slot machines, 130 gaming tables in addition to the poker room(s.) This year’s North America event will include such notables as multiple bracelet winner Barry Greenstein who finished in 4th place in 2007. This year’s events expect him to do better, with a chance at the first place slot. The WPT’s North American event stands apart in that the tournament offers to its players a choice of starting dates. The last two years have seen as many as 500 semi-professional and professional players turn up for the games. This year’s tourney will be run by competition administrator Jason March, who is renowned for his flawless execution of major world tournaments in the poker world. |
