In an annual poker competition that’s designed to get the European continent excited about the game of poker, the 2008 EPEC’s are designed to get those connected within the online poker community out to connect at live tournaments as well as get those players from in-person competitions excited about the convenience and graphics of the internet versions of the game. For the third year in a row, the Everest Poker European Cup is being hosted by Everest Poker.com and geared specifically to Europeans, over players from everywhere else around the world. The EPEC (Everest Poker European Cup) was established in 2006 to cater to the European countries in regard to the worldwide favorite game of poker. It boasts being one of the largest free poker competitions, with few alike in its genre. This year’s events will include more than 26 different tournament games across all of Europe, with dozens more competitions taking place both simultaneously and independently of the live versions. Though the online versions are open to players through out the world, the European Cup is especially designed to offer the best of poker to members of the EU. The establishment of the EPEC has allowed poker access to millions of players who might not have participated if the tournaments were not always designed to be free. This year’s Cup takes place in November and more than a dozen of the events will be broadcast on various networks in the continent in about 11 different nations. Each of these will consist of free competitions, as well as tutorials on the game of poker, and online poker. An opportunity to be part of the Final table is granted to every player which is scheduled, though the details have yet to be released. Rumors have it that the 3-day special events associated with the Final Table will take place at an unidentified sunny resort and will host around 200 players for the final €100,000 prize money. |
