It seems like the long wait may be finally over for cheated players of websites Absolute Poker and Ultimate Bet as a settlement has finally been signed by all considered powers in the case and a payment plan has been initiated.

The new owner of the cheating websites, Tokwiro Enterprises, has played an active role in the resolution, working closely with their regulating body, The Kahnawake Gaming Commission. The final deal mandates that the Escapa Liquidators pay $15 million to Blast Off Ltd, a corporate associate of Tokwiro and the official management of the sites. The funds will be delegated to cover the costs of refunds to players who’ve been waiting (im)patiently for a solution to the drawn out scam, as well as pay the $1.5 million fine issued by the KGC on Ultimate Bet. Blast Off Ltd is listed as the exclusive owner not only for both sites, but the altered poker software blamed for the cheating debacle. They are now also considered the responsible party to resume refund payment to unsatisfied members of the sites. The settlement, which also curiously included a stipulation allowing Tokwiro to pursue any individual(s) found to be implicated in the issue (perhaps a referral to WSOP Champion Russ Hamilton, independently sought in relation to the investigation) was approved and signed by Ontario Supreme Court Justice Sarah Pepall.

Paul Leggett, the Chief Operating Officer for Tokwiro had the following to say: “We are pleased that we have finally agreed to a settlement with the previous owners of Ultimate Bet, and we are happy to announce the completion of the final refunds to players.”
