As one of the positive results from the changes happening in the French legislative system in regards to their views on online gambling, is the warmer reception that live gambling events is enjoying on French soil. To that end, Poker Stars.com has decided to add France back on to the itinerary for the upcoming year.

It has been a full two years since the Poker Stars.com European Poker Tour has been without a stop on French land; the environment and attitude towards online poker, as well as live events for the card game made it more difficult than the effort was worth. With the changes in politics, however, the nation has been added back on the docket for the tournament’s fifth season. The European Poker Tour is currently scheduled for the end of January of next year, dates 20th through the 24th. France’s location will be held at the Casino Barriere Deauville.

The upcoming season is advertised to be one of the most exciting, according to a statement made by John Dithie, chief executive for the EPT. The lineup includes an impressive roster of Team PokerStars, such as names like Katja Thater, Isabelle Mercier, Vicky Coren, Vanessa Rousso and Noah Boeken. Others include Bertrand ‘ElkY’ Grospellier, Luca Pagano, Alex Kravchenko, Chad Brown and Dario Minieri. He also suggested that this season is expected to be larger than previous seasons, and a cap will be instituted at 700 players, creating a cash pool of about €3,360,000.

Poker Stars.com doesn’t forget their base players either, when it comes to the live tournaments; they also will be hosting a number of qualifiers over their website for online poker players. Winners of the qualifiers will receive packages that include the buy-in cash of €5,300 as well as travel and accommodations for the Tour.
