This year’s 10th edition of the Online Poker Series hosted by Full Tilt came off without any hitches, and to the excitement of many, attracted enough gambling participants that the tournament went well above their estimation in guaranteed cash prizes. There were two big-money events that were especially advertised and resulting in giving away more than $3.5 million over the last few days to a wide range of new winners.

The events, titled the Main Event and the High Rollers Event, attracted more than their fair share of online poker celebrities to keep the competition high and the attraction keen. Much action rounded out the two tournaments and hours of straight through poker play resulted in well-earned winners in both cases. For the high rollers, it was a No Limit Texas Hold’Em 6-game max, with $5,000+$200, each player buying in for $5,200 to vie for top prizes. Players included such names as Christian Iacobellis, David Pham, Brandom Adams, David Peters, and Kevin Saul. Even Craig Marquis popped in, just having finished up at the World Series of Poker finals table. A total of 500 entries were received for the two-day competition, and the first place slot was taken by Amit Makhija. The final table sat six after two days of tough poker play, Makhija under screenname ‘amak316’ following closely on the heels of chip leader ‘KaKeTKa.’ Joining them at that final seating were the names ‘dpowell,’ Mark ‘Buster Love’ Seif, ‘PureCash25,’ (who took third) and Evan ‘Neonpils99’ Parkes. ‘KaKeTKa’ ended as runner-up after Makhija secured ‘PureCash’s’ chips with his departure.

The Main Event, which brought in 5,225 players with a $500+$35 buy-in, creating a prize pool well above the guaranteed $2.5 million. A total of $2,612,500 was brought in for players like James ‘Mig.com’ Mackey, Nenad ‘serb2127’ Khan and Christian ‘da_professional’ Iacobellis to vie for. To their dismay, none made the final six.

Eleven hours of game play saw the final table sat- where Va Shan ‘julian verse’ Watkins won out over the likes of players ‘bazeman,’ ‘ilovepoka,’ and ‘sckilla’ who came in fifth, fourth, and second-place prizes, respectively. Watkins’ title of Champion for the 10th Edition Main Event for the Full Tilt Online Poker Series was cushioned with a comfortable $450,708 prize.
