A new poker-driven show will soon be streaming over Card Player TV this month, as the impending launch of a new show to be hosted by Jon ‘Pokertrip’ Friedburg was confirmed to the online gambling community this week. The show, which will run in 30 minute increments, will be called ‘Under the Gun,’ and sponsored by the online casino group UB.com. The debut will be up and running by the end of the first half of May, a start that has the online poker community eager to see what Freidburg has up his sleeves this time. The show will be available exclusively on the Card Player TV site, streaming once a week live on Monday evenings. A panel of professional and well known poker players from both the live and internet casino circuits will provide advice and opinions on a range of poker topics. According to the promotional goods for the show, if it can be related somehow back to the world of poker, no topic is off-limits. Possible discussion threads can be provided by popular media, poker forums or though suggestions. Friedburg is set and ready for the new show adventure, bringing to the table some experience of hosting with his success of leading the Stacking Chips show during the 2007 World Series of Poker on Card Player. His perspective as an industry analyst is combined with the tangible history of being a tournament player himself, as he holds a World Series bracelet from his win of a No Limit Hold’Em event during the 2006 Series. "Rather than focusing only on strategy, were going to take it a couple of steps further and provide much more insight into the mindset and lifestyle of poker players, said Friedberg. He said that ideas are already flowing for the first few episodes of ‘Under the Gun,’ and listed topics such as how the market might improve upon the integrity of the game, discussions on the relationships and ethics between players and backers, as well as looking at the influence and range of software and programming for online casino poker. “It’s basically going to be very unscripted and uncensored. I want to expose the mindset and views of the brightest players in the world. I want to know how their minds work as far as debating the more widely disputed topics and issues.” |
