With little explanation, a smaller-time online gambling company made the official announcement this week that they would be switching software providers, confirming the rumors that had begun to penetrate the internet casino portals that the group was unsatisfied with the packages offered up by Microgaming. Microgaming, though one of the most powerful names in the online gambling world, is still resistant to providing games accessible to US players, a distinction that apparently has forced Playshare-Casinoshare-Grand Mondial to make their move. The three way online casino group has only decided that they will not be renewing their contract with Microgaming, though the selection has not yet been made on who they might hire to provide next year’s gambling platform. Though few details were included in the email notification sent to their internet gambling affiliates, notifying them of the pending changes, one clue was included leading industry analysts to believe that the state of legalization (or prohibition) in the US had a significant influence on the decision. The change is scheduled to take place on the first of June, 2010, when US players will note a change in their typical lobby layouts. According to the notice, the change will be most distinctive on the Casino Share and Grand Mondial internet casinos, as it will be the official switch date from the Microgaming platform to their new supplier. The operators have assured players that until the transition is complete, there will be a few differences, but they can feel confident in expecting similar feels and layouts to what they are used to. Members will not need to open any new accounts or download new software but a reasonable amount of understanding is asked for until the transition is complete. Executives of both Casino Share (and their new US version) and Grand Mondial have said they hope the process will be as seamless as possible. |
