Yet another contract has been signed, teaming up a publication with a growing online gambling company to expose both products to new demographics. According to reports originating from the UK, the free newspaper the Metro has signed a contract with FSB Technology to provide on their website a free World Cup Fantasy Football competition. The timing couldn’t be more perfect, for as the start of the biggest event in both the football and sports betting world creeps up, the excitement surrounding the impending games in South Africa is growing at an exponential rate.

FSB Technology is a growing group themselves, familiar to many in the online gambling community for their fantasy sports software contributions. As the use of the free fantasy football platform will provide some much needed marketing and exposure for FSB, they will provide in turn live fantasy football performance ratings, keeping constant updates flowing between the real world of football, and the digital version. Live performance ratings will be available for every player whose team makes it to the finals in the World Cup, giving players new to the internet gambling world a perfect intro to the betting styles oriented with live sports betting, but allowing beginners to remain in the safe havens of free programming, with no financial risk to themselves.

Players are awarded points for their good guesses, with systems in place for the rewards awarded according to goals scored, referee infringements and even tackles. With Metro growing in popularity among the UK population, it’s a perfect outlet for FSB to gain additional exposure. Metro’s internet friendly version, along with it’s “free” status continues to encourage new visitors to the site.

"We are already working with SkyBet and 188Bet on the fixed-odds betting side, and this deal completes our vision of bridging the gap between fantasy sports and sports betting,” said FSB chief executive Dave McDowell. “This is the first time that football fans have been able to select a player for their fantasy team and place a bet on that same player using the same performance rating system."
