The worlds of reality television and online gambling once again clash this week as a contract is signed that will bring a new, rare form of talent to internet bingo. It seems like a deal made in heaven, bridging the likes of classic internet casino play with the excitement and raw humanity of television shows like the UK’s Britain’s Got Talent. The show is a huge hit, and since the discovery of Susan Boyle and the subsequent obsessive following on YouTube last year, parent company Freemantle Media Enterprises has enjoyed viewership not only at home, but around the world.

The Britain’s Got Talent brand is finding a new home this month, as a deal was signed between Freemantle and Rank plc, the leading company over internet gambling sites such as Mecca Bingo.com. The agreement between the two companies was signed for three years, positioning Mecca Bingo as the official online gambling partner of the television show, and granting Rank permissions to develop an online bingo game with Britain’s Got Talent theming. The contract covers all of the promotional and marketing details, including theme music, logo and imagery as well as clips of past video and judges’ praise.

Britain’s Got Talent was the highest rated television show in the UK last year, with audience ratings coming in from more than 13 million viewers. The finals had an amazing 18 million viewers tune in. Susan Boyle’s performances spread like wildfire over YouTube, generating more than 200 million hits. "This will give us exposure to a new audience, including the opportunity to promote meccabingo.com to Britain’s Got Talent fans,” said Angus Nisbet of Meccabingo parent Rank Interactive. “It will also enable us to enhance our offering to our existing customers.”
