Some exciting action has been seen at the online casino Full Tilt Poker this week, as the still-nameless enigma that goes only his screen name ‘Isildur1’ is back in the high roller seat and taking no pity on his competitors. The player, however mysterious, made headlines all last fall, swooping in and decimating the other players including professionals across the board. It seems that he’s taking a new tactic to heart this new season, as he regularly signs on the lower stakes tables to play and win, before utilizing his winnings at the nosebleed seats. It seems to be working as he ended this past weekend in the black. In fact, by the time the Swedish player signed off, he had profited an easy $530,000 from the likes of other top names, among them Ilari Sahamies. The pair met up for $300 / $600 and $500 / $1,000 Pot Limit Omaha, though Isildur seems to be nearly infallible on most versions of online poker. In a game of $200 / $400 No Limit Hold’Em, he did go down $190,000 to the well-respected Justin Bonomo through an 800 hand session, but gathered the strength he needed to face-off against two archenemies, Cole South and Brian Hastings, two of the individuals guilty of sharing card histories to have gained an unfair advantage over Isildur this past winter. South lost an easy $334,000, most of which was won by Hastings after 224 hands of Pot Limit Omaha. For now, Isildur’s magic is still slightly tarnished, exacerbated by the reality of Hastings continuing defeats over the mystery player. For others, however, he remains a tough competitor, and oft-times winner of lots of action at the Full Tilt online casino. Other big winners over the last week include Tom ‘durrrr’ Dwan, and Alexander Kostritsyn. |
