Because of said popularity, Heads Up Entertainment International says, a number of the biggest leaders in poker in the internet casino industry the world over have contacted them, soliciting business partnerships. The announcement this week was that one of those negotiations will likely result in the co-branding or outright purchase of the Canadian Poker Tour in the near future. Should the deal be solidified by Heads Up Entertainment and the as of yet unnamed poker entity, due diligence would most certainly be included in any agreement, from both sides. Kelly Kellner, the chief executive officer for Heads Up has gone on record confirming that multiple online gambling companies have come forth to discuss options, though they are staying silent on who the current favorite for the Poker Tour deal is. According to the firm, the Canadian Poker Tour is one of the biggest brands in all of North American poker. Heads Up Entertainment owns and operates not only the Tour, but also the Canadian Poker Player Magazine as well as the recently introduced Canadian Poker Player Television network. Their products allow the company to reach more than 40 million card players on the North American continent. "Over the next 12 months, we will manage more than 550 casino-based events in Canada, Costa Rica the Dominican Republic and our Poker Super Cruise, which will attract some of the best poker players in North America,” said Kellner in her statement. “As a result of our relationships with the casinos, some of them exclusive, the online poker companies are realizing that our market reach allows them to market their platforms to players in North America.” She said that the negotiating firm wished to remain anonymous for now for competitive reasons.
