The online gambling community is ablaze once again as the well-known mystery of Isildur1 takes the stage at the internet casino site Full Tilt Poker. This week’s update on the enigmatic star is less than fortunate as the player falls victim once again to his card game archenemy, Brian Hastings. When the weekend closed last week, the nameless one ended up $845,000. His following week was not nearly as profitable, as he lost more than $1.5 million by the end of the workweek. A majority of the damage came courtesy of his enemy Brian Hastings, as Isildur lost a staggering $1,790,744 from his loss of luck. His first 1,500 hands of $500 / $1,000 Pot Limit Omaha cost him $150,000 as the two played their heads up across six different tables. The losses only got worse in the next couple of hundred hands, as Isildur’s bankroll went down $350,000… exacerbating once again as the Swedish player who has still yet to reveal his identity managed to lose $1.6 million dollars in the following 1,210 hands. It must be a bitter reminder of last year’s damage, when Hastings cheated by sharing card histories with fellow frequents on the Full Tilt online casino to gain an advantage over Isildur, and win $4.2 million from him. Still, the relentless force came back for more, even after Hastings had signed off for the evening, playing it up with other pros like Ilari Sahamies, from whom he won $65,000 on Pot Limit Omaha. When the pair switched over to a higher buy-in table, however, Sahamies won back the advantage, taking $350,000 from the Swede. Apparently, Isildur was looking for some reassurance of his own game play, demoting himself back down to the $25 / $50 Pot Limit tables, losing yet another $30,000 to the likes of Cole South. By the time he signed off for the evening, he was out an embarrassing $1,790,744. The winners for the week completely excluded Isildur, instead ranking with Tom Dwan, Hastings, and Sahamies, up $1.17 million, $1.14 million and $946,000 respectively. |
