The latest update for the ongoing World Series of Poker has become available to the rest of the internet gambling community with the conclusion of the 15th day of the 41st Tournament of its kind. Two more players have added their names to the ranks of players esteemed enough to hold golden bracelets, identifying them as winners of the prestigious events, regarded by many in the online gambling world as the most competitive collection of poker players in the world.

The most recent winner are those of Eric Buchman and Jason DeWitt. Event number 17 ended with a splash as Jason DeWitt took the final prize, adding the first place title for the $5,000 buy-in No Limit Hold’Em game to his resume, and taking home the lion’s share of the prize pot, $818,959. The runner up for the game was UK player Sam Trinkett, who was only slightly disappointed with his check for $505,725. This marked the first World Series of Poker win for DeWitt, certainly earned from the field of 792 entrants who showed up to play.

DeWitt utilized an age-old strategy of grabbing the advantage early on, and playing doggedly, refusing to give up the lead. By the time the final heads up commenced between Trinkett and his opposition, it was far too late for the UK player to recoup, and the final face-off was relatively short lived. In spite of the strong advantage, DeWitt told reporters that in his career as a professional poker player, the WSOP game had been his greatest challenge yet, and he was proud to have finally earned a bracelet. He had come close before, with a second place finishing in a 2009 Triple Chance Tournament, and a third place finishing in a 2009 game of Pot Limit Omaha.
