Las Vegas continues to draw the internet gambling community’s eye this week as the World Series of poker continues at the Rio Casino and Resort. Yet another $1,500 No Limit Hold’Em event came to a stark conclusion this week as a Canadian player by the name of Pascal LeFrancois held off all of his 2,340 competitors to win the bracelet, title and $568,974 grand prize.

The last day of the event saw only ten players remaining, most of whom held on until the end when a final table was finally decided. Once the last few were seated, the long-winded action picked up speed, with LeFrancois dominating most of the hands and three eliminations taking place before the night was out. Understandable how tough the fight, as each battled to win the lion’s share of the $3,160,350 prize pool. Saar Wilks was kicked out in ninth place, taking home $41,843 and Josh Brikis was close behind him with a prize of $54,578. Following them were Kurt Disessa, James Andersen, David Aue, Dan Wjuniski from Brazil and Kevin Howe, who earned $249,351 for his third place finish.

The final heads up kept the online gambling railbirds on their toes to say the least, as Max Steinberg took on the eventual winner in LeFrancois. Exciting, as Steinberg struggled to gain the upper hands, but LeFrancois’ nine-to-one chip lead was took much to catch up to, and Steinberg had to settle for title of runner up and $352,916.

Meanwhile, other games were just as exciting to watch, and rich enough in cash prizes to entice the participation of names better known in online gambling circles. In fact, it only took three days for Men Nguyen to win the title of Champion for the $10,000 buy-in Seven Card Stud game. The third saw only 12 remain, including the likes of such formidable players like Mike Mizrachi, Sirious Jamshidi, Vladimir Schmelev and Dan Heimiller.
