Though classic online casino games will forever hold a strong hold on the industry’s business, the growth of skill and alternative games are fast growing in a market that includes not only the goods offered in land-based casinos, but also dominates in the mobile gaming market. Rummy, actually, has been growing in popularity as operators catch on to the fondness gamblers have for the old game. A deal has been struck between two growing brands that will see a new rummy product launched hopefully in the near future. The announcement came and was confirmed by the pair of firms as Offside Bet signed an agreement with RM Royal Media. Offside Bet, in spite of the fact that the bulk of their business was in the sports betting division of the internet gambling industry, has already been working on a rummy product, and will be joining together with RM in the hopes of expanding its success that much faster. The licensing deal with RM Royal Media was well chosen, for although Offside Bet has a strong presense in the Mediterranean, their handholds in Eastern Europe could grow stronger, with developments on the move in Bulgaria, Greece, Russia and even Ukraine. The widest distribution they can achieve is the goal, and their new rummy product could be a contributing factor in their success, by any name. In Romania, the game is called Remi; in Spain, it’s referred to as Chin Chon. In Turkey it goes by still another name, called Okey, though slightly different as it is played with cards instead of tiles. Offside Bet has been steadily growing, working cautiously since their establishment in 2008, and holding on to their smaller corner of the market through the economic tragedies. Licensed in Curacao, their poker offerings utilize Playtech’s software, which carried a Kahnawake license. Their online casino business works with Net Entertainment, licensed out of Malta. |
