AJ Thompson is on the move this week with an announcement confirmed by both Expekt and Bodog that the well-liked executive in the online gambling world would be making a career switch. According to reports, Thompson has accepted a position with Bodog Europe, quickly growing to be one of the most innovative contributors to the internet gambling market. He has developed most of his resume with Expekt, where he most recently has been acting as the Chief Technical Officer, a position that he will be stepping into once again with the new company. Expekt has seen a number of changes this year, as they are now owned by the larger internet gambling group Mangas Gaming. Whether that change played any part in Thompson’s departure or acceptance of the offer made by Bodog has yet to been determined. He will step into the new role relatively soon, and will be reporting to the chief executive of the Bodog Poker Network alone, Patrik Selin. The appointment seemed to please Selin, who released commentary with the official press release, saying that he was looking forward to the drive and magnetism that Thompson has become known for. His coming weeks will apparently be busy, with Selin mentioning that a ‘ground-breaking’ new project was already in the works, a move that will set Bodog unequivocally apart from their competition. “Bodog Europes ability to take quick decisions makes them an attractive place to work but also gives them the flexibility to move faster than companies shackled by endless layers of bureaucracy,” said AJ in response to inquiries about the move. “In the i-gaming world that is an obvious advantage because the landscape is ever-changing and I have the opportunity and backing to do whatever it takes to have the best product in the European market.” |
