Though the summer is beginning to wind down from its action packed peak, still some pretty significant changes are hitting the internet casino news forums in regards to executive and management changes at some of the biggest companies in the market. The latest comes from William Hill, a fierce field of competition for fellow firms, which confirmed this week the departure of David Hood from his responsibility as a leading spokesman for WH. Hood’s official title included the roles of being both the Director of Sponsorship and Corporate Communications. The official statement by the internet gambling company said that the reason for the change was by ‘mutual agreement,’ though few details about the pronouncement were procured with additional questions. Hood himself, true to form, also released a statement, saying that he’d “…had 18 years there and it is the right time to move on now. I've left by mutual agreement and I'm leaving a good team behind me." A replacement spokesman said only that William Hill would “…like to thank him for his contribution to the company.” Hood did come with some disagreeing with him, as he introduced a few different innovations into the business, encouraging an expansion of William Hill’s bookie sponsorship portfolio. In his efforts, he was behind the ‘greyhound versus horse’ and ‘greyhound versus pigeon’ contents, designed to promote WH’s sponsorship of the Greyhound Derby, two projects that brought his name to the spotlight. It was his antipathy against betting exchanges that tainted his reputation, however. He served as a high-profile representative of sponsorships and public relations for 18 years, coming to the company as a former jockey. |
