Betfair has managed to sign themselves yet another significant contract this week, with the confirmation that they are now the first ever, and exclusive sponsor for the whole of the British Athletes Commission, commonly referred to as the BAC. The online gambling company has managed to get the BAC to sign up for 3 years on the deal, establishing themselves in a very powerful position for marketing possibilities with the organization. The contract not only outlines how the two companies will work together to better their now cooperative bottom lines, but will also team up to increase the awareness and education of athletes across the board as to the parts they can play in preventing corruption in professional as well as Olympic sports. The timing is particularly intriguing, as London is just now ramping up their efforts to plan for the summer Olympics to come to their fair city in 2012. With the online gambling industry surging ever forward, the influence that bets on sports will have in another 2 years will undoubtedly have increased as well. His sentiments were echoed by the CEO for Betfair was well, with David Yu saying that the new partnership will provide a key component in their efforts to safeguard the integrity of the sports betting world. |
