Though poker teams sponsoring the likes of online gambling brands are well known, and an effective means of marketing, a new team is set to hit not the internet casinos, but live tournaments, with this week’s development of the new All In Poker Team. The group will be sponsored by the energy drink All In, a subsidiary company for Kore Nutrition Inc, a group out of Nevada, in the US. The team has formed to compete primarily in US-based poker contests. A number of pro players whose names will be easily recognized by the online gambling community have already signed on to be part of the Team, including Johnny Chan, a formidable player who brings to the table the skill and experience necessary for him to have earned two World Series of Poker Main Event champion in addition to multiple bracelets. The team released a statement to the press this week, including a list of the members. Chan will definitely be the highlight of the current roster, bolstered by the likes of Billy Baxter, Freddy Deeb, Eli Elezra, Maria Ho, John Phan, Tim Phan and Lee Watkinson in addition to the poker participation of All In’s CEO Jeffery Todd. The players will be charged not only with their game, and focusing on winning, but the awareness of the brand as well, promoting as they tour the energy drink All In. They will wear clothing with the company’s logo for all televised appearances as well as during poker games. "This is a positive step for poker as there are not a lot of endorsement deals for players beyond the poker playing websites", said Chan, "This relationship is extremely beneficial for both groups and it is an honour to be in the company of such a prestigious group of poker players." A number of poker specials are already scheduled for the team, including appearances on shows much viewed by online gambling players like Poker After Dark, The World Series of Poker, and the World Poker Tour. |
