Most recently, the UC Group has focused their investment funds on lobbying the US government, working towards the legalization of the online gambling industry in America. Last year, they spent nearly $1.48 million on promoting the liberalization of internet casinos, and intends to throw more money towards the cause in 2010. They have a roster of ten different gambling firms that they work with, offering both anti-money laundering measures as well as back-office operations support. Other changes for success include the addition of the former Labor government minister David Blunkett in January of 2009, who said in a recent announcement to shareholders that their core profits had risen an impressive 39 percent, while the number of transactions processed had jumped 24 percent. If the rate continues, the firm will have done more than comeback from their miserable last 18 months. "The USA remains core to our ambitions and every effort is being made to harness the potential commercial opportunity this will present," CEO Kobus Paulsen said recently.
