While the new year has so far been more than filled with announcements of new agreements forged, and partnership contracts signed, showing growth and progress for the online gambling industry, a bit of bad news for at least one internet casinos has come through the cracks, publicizing the demise of the site Slots Club.com. The online casino site had barely made it to its first anniversary before calling it quits, as it was reported to the industry news sector this week.

The online casino Slots Club.com was licensed and regulated through Malta, and operated under the sponsorship of Gaming VC. They are still up and running for now, giving players a chance to empty out their virtual wallets before the internet gambling site shuts down for good at the end of January. The site ran software and games courtesy of Net Entertainment, who was the first to confirm the impending closure of the casino. Customers have all been advised to empty out their accounts, making maximum withdrawals before the domain name stops functioning, as it is the simplest way to ensure proper payment. There is also a note thanking existing customers for their loyalty, as the firm hopes that they will continue to frequent related sites.

Many in the online gambling community are reporting their surprise at the impending closure, as not only did Slots Club.com only open in February of last year, but no signs of trouble had been reported to the public. They had completely redone the website in July of last year, and seemed hopeful that the investment would be enough to counteract rough economic waters.
