In spite of the recent report from the UK government’s Department of Culture, Media and Sport on their latest recommendations for the online gambling industry, the Isle of Man and similarly white-listed jurisdictions continue to be popular bases for new and growing internet casinos companies. Though the white-listed advantage might soon be no more (see previous article) as well as the tax advantages diminished, the attractiveness for basing a firm out of the Isle of Man is apparently still strong, with a new online software developer called Mahjong Logic demonstrates. Mahjong Logic is a company that offers real-money versions of the game Mahjong, as well as a strong player to player network. It’s a welcome contribution to the internet gambling world, as more companies look for diversity in their gaming platforms. Mahjong Logic is betting on their own success, establishing their company base in one of the most popular homes for online casinos, the Isle of Man. They were awarded heir license to operate this week, announcing the achievement to the press shortly after. Because the Isle of Man is still under the UK’s white-listed regulation requirements, the conditions met by the Mahjong firm were no small matter. But they were able to complete the list of strict standards, as well as player protection mandates, and managed to secure their gaming license in just 12 weeks. “We are proud and delighted to be awarded the Isle of Man gaming licence," said Jonas Alm, CEO, Mahjong Logic. "We applied for the prestigious licence because it represents the highest standards of jurisdictional control in the gaming industry. We have several customers lined up and in the coming year we hope to grow our business with a genuinely innovative gambling offering.” |
