The United States isn’t the only nation dilly-dallying the their progress to get aboard the online gambling train. Thailand, on the other side of the globe, has also been delayed in getting into the internet gambling community, despite the national lottery project that has been approved. According to local press like The Nation and The Bangkok Post, more delays have been called for by the Trade Representative’s Office, further annoying proponents for online casinos. Thailand’s Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva seemed to enjoy announcing the latest setback, news of which was quickly spread amongst the internet casino community. Many are now wondering if there will ever be online access to the national lottery, as the newest developments reveals that an entire committee will be set up in order to find ways of preventing the online lottery from ever being launched. According to Vejjajiva’s statement, the new committee will have 30 days to complete their research before reporting back to him with their findings. Vejjajiva has been rather public with his personal opinion, and stands as the ultimate opponent to the lottery going gaining internet access. "I personally am opposed to the idea of an online lottery,” he said.
