The executive board has come under a new rule this week at the Canadian online gambling software company Chartwell Games International with appointment of their new Chief Executive Officer to take the lead on the firm. Parent company Chartwell Technology announced that Daniel Phillips will be the new CEO of the internet casino games division, a promotion from his current position as Vice President of Operations.

Phillips brings to the new position not only an intricate knowledge of Chartwell’s existing status within the Canadian online casino industry, but a healthy resume from before he joined the corporation in August of last year. He had already held high management positions with other internet gambling groups, such as Ladbrokes and Gala Coral; has experience in both land-casinos and their online casino counterparts; and has worked over divisions such as television, poker, casino and bingo across multiple platforms.

Phillips will be taking the place of Lee Richardson, who has decided to willingly step down from his lofty position in pursuit of other dreams within the online gambling industry. As the new CEO, Phillips will be responsible for overseeing international operations for Chartwell Gaming, as well as marketing, business development, sales and expanding clientele strategies. He seemed enthusiastic about the new challenges, releasing a statement saying he was both ‘pleased and excited’ with the appointment.

“We are extremely pleased to welcome Dan in his new capacity with the Chartwell team,” said the COO for the firm, Dave Acorn. “As we focus on growth, expanded client services and the rollout of new products on our recently launched Chartwell Games Platform, Dan’s extensive industry experience and leadership skills will be a valuable asset in achieving our goals.”
