A relatively significant development has arisen in the online gambling industry in Italy’s newly liberalized bingo sector, with the launch of the first internet bingo operator’s services. The bingo product is courtesy of Gioco Digitale, an Italian online gambling operator which came under the ownership and management of Austrian internet gambling company Bwin last year. The launch of the new bingo products came immediately following the successful compliance of the Gioco Digitale/Bwin partnership with that of the regulations laid down by local regulator AAMS. The acquisition of the necessary permissions has allowed Gioco Digitale to become the first to offer such services on the virgin Italian market, giving them a significant headstart against competitors. And competitors there will be, as the liberalization of the Italian market has been hailed as one of the most-looked forward to events in the online gambling industry for a year or more. France’s is close on its tail, creating a perfect motivator for firms to bridge their way into new sectors of the European industry. With the success of internet poker late last year, online bingo will have a fine chance of making the investments of Bwin and like companies well worth the while. “We are proud to be the first operator to offer an online gaming platform for cash prizes in full obedience of current rules and regulations," said Paolo Di Feo, Director General of the Bwin Italia - Gioco Digitale Group. "We can offer an easy game deeply rooted in our culture, with the chance to win hundreds of Euros on betting a few Euro cents”. |
