With the announcement of the departure of Lee Richardson from the Canadian online gambling software development company, Chartwell Technologies, and the new appointment of Daniel Phillips as his replacement Chief Executive Officer, some the follow-up news of Richardson and his latest plans. According to a recent announcement by the largest bookmaker in Ireland, BoylesSports, Richardson has moved on to accept a position has the CEO of the online gambling company. Richardson could hardly have had much competition for the job, as he comes to BoyleSports with a full resume, having had experience with both Chartwell Games Int’l, the British Horseracing Board, Tote Direct ( a joint venture between Tote, Ladbrokes, and Gala Coral) before moving on to the online casino sector with work for Totalbet.com and then Coral Eurobet plc. His role as COO for Coral Eurobet gave him the skills he needed to jump to CEO, running the group’s online sports betting division as well as the internet casino operations. He expanded their interactive TV and telephone betting products and ran Coral’s other UK non-retail venues. He had been with Chartwell since 2004, when he accepted the position as head of their Gaming division, and held full responsibility for their new business development for a global client base. Richardson has a MBA from the University of Strathclyde and has been a fellow of the UK Chartered Institute of Marketing since 1999. Their appointment seemed to excite BoyleSports, a group fast-rising in the world of online gambling. “I’m delighted to welcome Lee to Boylesports, he brings to us a wealth of industry experience and is joining at a key time in the company’s development,” said the owner of the internet gambling group, John Boyle. “We have some very exciting projects in the pipeline and with the upcoming 2010 World Cup, I have no doubt that Lee will contribute greatly to the success of the company. I am sure the entire management team will give Lee their full support in growing Boylesports’ business in our key territories of Ireland and the UK.” |
