If a hand has a total point score value higher than 21, it busts, or loses the hand. If the player busts, he loses, even if the dealer (or the electronic house) also busts. If both the player and the dealer have the same point value, it is called a "push", and nobody wins, but nobody loses either. Cards with numbers are worth their face value, while face cards are worth 10. An ace is worth 11 except if the player is going to bust, and then the ace is worth 1 point. When a player has a hand that adds up to 21, and the two cards are an ace plus a card worth 10, that is called a �BlackJack� or a �Natural�. Having BlackJack makes the player an immediate winner. Each player plays against the dealer, not other players. The players are dealt two cards face up. The dealer has one card face up and one card face down. The card that is face down is known as the "hole card". If the dealer has BlackJack, all players lose their initial bets, except players who also have BlackJack, who push. In the case of receiving two cards of the same value, like two 8�s, it is possible to �split�. Splitting is like playing two hands of BlackJack at the same time. The two 8�s would be separated and then the player hits until he stands or busts. Another option is to �double down�. When a player doubles down he is telling the dealer he is going to double his bet, take one more card and stand. This is done when a player thinks he will win the hand. BlackJack has the advantage in that the online casino version is extremely comparable to the live versions.
