It seems that a conclusion of sorts might become a reality to the ever-lasting arguments surrounding the Grand Prive online casino group and their affiliate partners claiming non-payment. The issue has been in the fine and capable hands of eCOGRA, the e-Commerce Online Gaming Regulation and Assurance organization, which spent the latter part of 2009 committed to finding a fair resolution for all parties involved. According to rumors this week, said resolution has been achieved.

Grand Prive closed their affiliate program in December of 2008, causing an uproar that wasn’t able to be resolved in house. The group has been attacked ever since, with the online gambling community in a uproar about the lack of communication, the abruptness of the closure without notice and their overall questionable handling of the issue. For these reasons, eCOGRA was called in to help, acting as an unbiased third party, and working towards players’ protection as well as fair business practices.

eCOGRA released their findings this week, determining that Grand Prive did in fact overlook a number of their affiliate partners in the accounts closure, though not all the groups that submitted for payment consideration were found to have valid claims. Only 26 affiliates were found to have been mistreated, of course which infuriated a good portion of the remainder of the affiliate community, which is now accusing the auditing group of being too complicit in their investigations.

Regardless, eCOGRA accompanied their findings of the 26 overlooked partners with a strong recommendation that Grand Prive not only pay up, but that they offer a reasonably generous compensation package for the trouble the debacle has caused. The sums will be generated based on average player lifetimes, as well as player activity from referrals over the year between the program closing and the eCOGRA investigation initiating.

The investigation team recommended a reasonably generous compensation package in regard to the 'overlooked' affiliates, which took into consideration average player lifetimes at GP as well as player activity over the period December 2008 when the program closed, to December 2009 when the investigation commenced. Grand Prive has accepted the recommendation, and has committed to paying out all legitimate claimants by the end of the month.
