eCOGRA, although nearly always caught with a full docket as one of the leaders of third party auditing and player protection, has been assigned yet another daunting task, this time by the Kahnawake Gaming Commission. The Commission oversees a healthy chunk of the regulation needs of the online gambling industry, and has requested that eCOGRA head up their compliance testing, ensuring that all of the high, international standards expected of their online casinos are met or exceeded. The announcement was made last week, following the spread of rumors that the Commission would be looking to step up their enforcement of fair business practices and secure operational conduct for online gambling companies under their jurisdiction. eCOGRA is just the non-profit group to follow through, known throughout the world to certify only the best, and flawless internet casinos. The statement released by the Kahnawake Gaming Commission promises that their 55 operators will from now on be subject to higher standards, mandating without option the best that online gambling can offer. All of the internet gambling firms affected are within their Mohawk jurisdiction, based out of Montreal, Canada. It was indicated by the Chairman of the Commission, Dean Montour, that the licensees had all subjected themselves willingly to the new standards, a show of commitment for the new compliance system. "eCOGRA is a non-profit standards and player protection company that has a substantial staff of professionally qualified and industry-experienced Chartered Accountants who have completed hundreds of compliance inspections over the past six years,” Montour said in the statement. “"The company, which is itself reviewed annually by KPMG, has the resources to assess compliance and conduct monitoring programs to ensure game fairness and adherence to key KGC objectives, and is eminently suited to the task.” |
