continued from Full Tilt Update - 1 Bonomo seemed to be rather devastated by the loss, stopping by only a few of the lower stake tables to try to recollect bits of his pride. He wrote later that same evening that it was the biggest loss of his career, but that he wasn’t ready to throw in the towel to the powerhouse that is Isildur1 any time soon. “Played Isildur1 yesterday,” he wrote. “Was my biggest poker loss ever. I'm still up money overall for February. I will play him again.” As for the Swede, his current tally is up a clean $800,000, putting him in an excellent position to take on the next round at the online casino of choice, Full Tilt Poker. It didn’t take long as his took out Brian Hastings next, assuredly taking a particular pleasure in defeating one of the poker pros who had taken advantage of shared card histories to take him down late last year. Hastings was one of a trio of players whose collusion managed to take Isildur for an unfair $4.2 million in 2009, before it was revealed that they cheated by sharing with one another card histories to study the enigma’s play style. The two met up this week at the $300 / $600 Pot Limit Omaha tables at Full Tilt’s internet casino poker tables, playing for nearly a thousand hands before it became clear to Hastings that he was dealing with a reinvested force of poker. He lost more than half a million dollars ($505,000) to Isildir1 before signing off in shame. But Isildur wasn’t done, and continued his evening’s play to take additional funds from a range of players well known throughout the online gambling community. Ilari Sahamies lost $116,800 in 625 hands of play; the combined efforts of Tom Dwan, Di "Urindanger" Dang, Gus Hansen and Jani Vilmunen weren’t enough to keep him at bay as he won $247,000 over 240 hands. All in all, an additional $869,000 was added to his profits, no doubt putting him in an excellent mood indeed. On the low end of the scale were Patrik Antonius, who has lost $1,725,000 in recent play, as well as Brian Townsend, down $1,618,000. |
