The recent Taylor Nelson Sofres study also made sure they covered all their bases in gathering the necessary statistics, asking questions of 4,377 people from all over France. In that group, three out of four expressed some measure of distrust in the online gambling industry, with a mere 3 percent of the whole saying that they had ‘complete trust’ in the regulatory framework set up for the protection and security of internet gamers. For those who did use online gambling options on a regular basis, the French state monopoly holder, Pari Mutuel Urbain had the most exposure, with 47 percent of those interviewed having some knowledge of the brand and their gaming platform. Second most popular went to the secondary monopoly, Francaise des Jeux with 22 percent awareness; Betclic followed in third with 10 percent and Bwin was only recognized by 9 percent of respondents.
