While most of the partnership action flurrying around the French online gambling industry is in preparation by internet casinos for their application for membership to the new licensing program, due to become legislation this year, the latest piece of news actually comes on behalf of the French gambling monopoly, Francaise des Jeux. The group, apparently, is taking rather seriously the impending invasion of offshore internet gambling companies and is preparing in defense by bolstering their own platform.

The partnership signed this week by Francaise des Jeux was with a significantly smaller company, called Laverock von Schoultz, but more commonly referred to as LVS. The corporation, established in 1992, prides itself on specializing in developing software for the online gambling industry and has since developed a consistent reputation for high quality and innovation. They carry licensing through the UK Gambling Commission, and have been regulated for both remote and live gaming accreditation. Though they only employ about 30 people directly, they’ve grown to boast partners in Eastern Europe as well as Southeast Asia, and have offices in both Gibraltar and London. Brazil is the base for their programming.

The new partnership with Francaise des Jeux will focus on the development of a new sports betting platform, allowing the monopoly to more effectively compete with All-in-One betting companies like William Hill and Party Gaming. LVS’s Advanced Gaming Platform is the key piece to the agreement, a platform that will enable the French firm to offer fixed odds wagers through internet means, as well as their 27,000 retail terminals throughout the nation.

"It has been a challenge to meet the requirements of such a big operator and there has been a lot of learning to do on both sides, but [this project] gives us the platform to move forward into other markets," said the founder and head for LVS, expressing an excitement for the new challenge. The success of their deal with Francaise des Jeux has now given the company the confidence to seek similar contracts with other large groups in the internet gambling industry.
