It has literally been months since we were able to provide our readers with an update to the online gambling poker challenge issued by Tom ‘durrrr’ Dwan against Patrik Antonius almost a year ago. While the first few months of the Million Dollar Challenge saw plenty of action, it faltered last summer, with only sporadic investments of time made by the two players on the online gambling website Full Tilt, leaving the Challenge as it were largely out to dry. An update – finally – is available. Patrik Antonius and Tom Dwan met up once again at their host internet casino Full Tilt, contributing another 1,256 hands of online poker to their run of 50,000 hands. The Challenge, issued by Dwan, was to play any other poker player 50,000 hands to prove that over the long run, he was the best online gambling had to offer. Last year saw Antonius take the best of him for the majority of the year, perhaps being a contributing factor to the lack of interest by Dwan in the contest. It took them four hours to play their hands, most of which transpired on four different table of $200/$400 Pot Limit Omaha. With the session’s conclusion, Dwan was up by $878,490 in the Challenge statistics, and bringing the total number of hands played between the duo to 31,020. The largest pot to be won this time came only to $118,000, acquired by Dwan. The session seems to have reignited some interest, however, as the pair met up once again the following night to continue the game. Once again, Dwan walked away the champion of the night, after having added another three and a half hours to their timing tally. The number of hands jumped by 892, bringing the Challenge total to 31,912 before the night ended. Dwan’s overall lead now is $1,077,932 but with the contest only 64 percent complete, Antonius still has plenty of room to come back for the win. |
