Though the online poker Cake Network has managed to acquire a number of new member sites over the last few months, two internet casinos have confirmed their departure from Cake, choosing to make the switch to Merge Poker Network instead. The rumors have since been confirmed that both Players Only and Sportsbook.com will move their online poker interests to the new network. According to the most recent reports available in the internet gambling news, the switch could be made as early as mid-April. Another piece said that the online gambling activities of Jazette Enterprises will similarly be moving to the Merge Gaming platform. Merge is currently rated by Poker Scouts as the 20th biggest poker network in the world, servicing the internet casino needs of nearly 500 cash game players during its busiest hours. On a seven-day average, 245 gamblers are logged into the network, playing on the member internet casino sites. The addition of Players Only and Sportsbook is expected to further expand player liquidity, with some analysts hinting that it could change the liquidity stats by four or five times over. "This is an industry changing deal and we are delighted to have come to an agreement with Jazette Enterprises,” said the head of Merge Gaming, CEO Anthony Taylor. “This deal will bring massive liquidity to the network and see the online poker industry landscape change overnight. We are delighted to sign such an established partner to the network, it's through our great software and superior backend we are able to attract a group of this size." Players who frequent Players Only and Sportsbook.com shouldn’t see much disturbance in their play, as Merge expects to migrate the sites as seamlessly as possible to their new home. |
