It seems that Patrik Antonius might be a better internet poker card player than Tom ‘durrr’ Dwan had anticipated, as the Finnish set the stage for a serious comeback at the online casino Full Tilt Poker, despite Dwan’s continued advantage in the Million Dollar Challenge. Antonius has had somewhat of a difficult time in recent weeks, with two in particular seeing some embarrassing losses in the internet gambling world, but this past weekend, he cleaned up his act at a couple of tables to profit more than a half mil before signing off the internet gambling site. Super Bowl Sunday was a particularly profitable day for the Fin, who spent the majority of it at the high stakes poker table at Full Tilt. He dominated a player by the name of ‘World1969,’ taking $190,000 of his cash on his own $500 / $1,000 Pot Limit Omaha table in just 16 hands. He moved on to compete against a number of other top players, coming out on top by a solid $577,000 by the evening fall. Just days later, Antonius met up again with Dwan, no doubt bolstered by his fortunate run. Though he was unable to regain the lead in the Million Dollar Challenge – Dwan still is ahead by nearly $1.3 million – his play was stronger, and railbirds observing the action at the online casino haven’t lost hope quite yet. Three hours of play were completed by the duo, finishing another 883 hands in the Challenge. Dwan raised another $314,828 towards his advantage in the game, $200 / $400 Pot Limit Omaha. The pair met up a year ago, agreeing to a long-term Challenge to determine who was the better player. Though they still have many hours to go – having completed 32,795 of the 50,000 hands agreed upon, the statistics are nonetheless impressive. The total amount wagered by the pair sums to $268,728,143, with Full Tilt’s online gambling site having made $7,405 in rake. One hundred four hours have passed in play and 66 percent of the Challenge completed. |
