The next step for online gambling seems to be most definitively in the phone ring- the buzz about Europe and even some Asian countries is that the next big thing for online casinos is mobile gaming applications. In line with the developing revelations comes an insightful report by Joe Saumarez-Smith on the future of mobile gambling options. It was published by the Bloomberg News during the 5th Annual Mobile Gambling Summit that was held last week in London. As the head representative for Sports Gaming, sitting as chief executive officer for the management and consulting firm based out of the United Kingdom, Saumarez-Smith is in the prime position to give the utmost latest on mobile gaming across the globe. Sports Gaming supports the gaming industry from a biased perspective, they also own a number of UK based bingo companies as well as a few odds sites. From this place, Sports Gaming reps report that with the advances in technology, mobile gaming is becoming more and more accessible- and therefore, more popular. Industry executives are getting optimistic about just how strong of effects the new demographic may have for online gambling companies' bottom lines. One of the biggest changes in the last year to allow for such growth has been the leaps and bounds in advances in technology. The release of Apple's iPhone was a huge advancement, followed by all the other phone providers rushing to keep up. The change is apparent: one of the co- founders for mobile gaming software provider, Mfus, Charles Palmer, said, "In the past year our clients have taken more than GBP 100 million in bets through mobile devices, which suggests the market is developing very quickly. We are developing casino and bingo applications for launch next year and we see real evidence that users are very enthusiastic about mobile gaming.'' Despite the progress, it is generally agreed that wide spread acceptance of mobile gaming is still three or four years away; most online casino players still prefer the comforts of home for their playing. It's understandable: when it comes to poker tournaments, concentration and speed make all the difference. To that end, the current play speeds being as quick as .2 of a second, up from 16 seconds for every card revealed, the needed omprovements have been made Some aspects of the industry such as sports betting are enjoying a significant jump in business, even if traditional poker tournament enthusiasts still prefer some quiet concentration. |
