The report referred to was posted on the UK online poker website BingoPort.co.uk and saw an eighty percent increase over the last six months. The survey was published as part of the preparations for 2009's Players Choice Awards on BingoPort. The site says that though the report details are for a six month period, their research covers the last 18 months, and that time frame has seem a steady growth in participation in online bingo venues. The facts were obtained through a variety of means, one of the principal methods related to tracking how many bingo players participate concurrently in gaming sites knowing just how many players play at the same time on an average, compared to six months ago is a simple and reliable means to detect the substantial increase in participation. Other elements taken into account include jackpot statistics, live promotion responses, and other marketing maneuvers. These means not only track the popularity of bingo, but also give feedback to bingo sites as to what ad types work, and which do not. BingoPort started their tracking May 1st of this year and concluded at the end of October. During this period am increase of 80% of active online bingo players was noted. Despite what might be considered contradictory to predictions given the economic climate of frivolous pastimes such as gambling, Scott Logan, BingoPort director, says it's exactly in lime with the trends they've noted over the last year and a half. "we are starting to see some fascinating and positive trends coming through. We are of course watching the UK and global financial crisis closely, but our data suggests active online bingo player numbers should continue to rise in the foreseeable future," he said.
