Though offshore and foreign online gambling companies may have a difficult time breaking into the US internet casino markets even if the legalization measures manage to go through, the reverse doesn’t seem to be true in the least with news this week of an American gaming company that is making strides not only in the US, and Europe, but now is branching out to Asia as well. The confirmation of expansion came to light courtesy of Zynga Poker, a company based out of San Francisco, in California, was the social gaming developer has opened up their offerings to the Chinese market as well as on Facebook in both Taiwan and Hong Kong just this week.

According to a report by the industry pulse news Tech-Crunch, the games being released in the Asian markets are available in both traditional Chinese or English languages, and mark an expansion into a new area of the world that Zynga intends to continue pursuing. Zynga Poker is working in Japan, as well, recently purchasing the gaming start-up company Unoh, as well as accepting a $150 million investment bid from SoftBank Capital. They have even gone so far as to set up an office in Beijing to operate from, and acquired another brand, the Chinese game developer XPD Media.

Zynga’s success in the US and the social gaming markets continues to thrive, with their first game Zynga Poker still doing well in its third year, marking the top slots as the third most popular game on the website Facebook. The game attracts an impressive 28 million players every month, with the numbers still growing. The internet access and quick gaming speed allows as many as 375,000 Zynga players to play poker at the same time, every day, stretching across 100 different countries.

The game simulates a live poker game in a internet gambling style; as it is a social gaming application, however, it does so without using real cash money to play. Players are allowed, however, to send and receive gifts from other players, all virtually. A leader board lets gamblers know where they stand in comparison to the other players, and are able to sign on to any table to play, or create their own for friends. A choice of standard Hold’em games, tournaments and even VIP play are all available.

Zynga Poker’s new action in Asia is accompanied by a slew of incentives, such as new players receiving a complimentary stack of 8,888 poker chips with which they may play games. Tech-Crunch also reported that, “Additionally, this month, Zynga is offering a grand prize for the ShootOut tournament that allows local players to compete for a prize of $880,000 Taiwanese dollars. Zynga is also giving away a trip to Las Vegas to a user.”
