It seems like the theme of the week for
online gambling news is the launch of innovative new platforms in
established sectors of the internet casino world, as yet another new
lottery product has been launched by Spin 3. The firm, a subsidiary of the
world powerhouse Microgaming, and a mobile gaming specialist well on their
way to developing their own reputation, has introduced a new interactive
lottery product called Lotto-Spin that will allow state run lottery
programs to branch out to the internet gambling network, making themselves
accessible to players in a whole new way. While some lotteries are already ahead of the game in terms of adding their products to the flood of online gambling competition (such as those out of Canada) the new Lotto-Spin product could well act as a key piece to the solution for other markets throughout the world, such as in the US on a state-by-state basis. The Lotto-Spin platform will become available for licensing through a partnership between creator Spin3 and Pulse Interactive, a group ironically based out of the United States, though they bring to the table extensive knowledge about the US lottery markets and how to work (legally) within them until the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006 can be overturned. By signing up for Lotto-Spin, traditional lottery operators will be able to launch their own online gambling offerings, as it will manage their brand, and infrastructure for the digital market. Furthermore, it will support both traditional computer as well as mobile games, allowing a huge base of flexibility. The programming comes complete with a full back office support system, as well as player access to a customer support team 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Matti Zinder, head of Spin3 said, “Lotteries have to work harder than ever before to compete for players and profits,” said Matti Zinder, the head of Spin3. “Interactive lottery services represent the greatest opportunity for the lottery industry, with people becoming more connected than ever before. The extension of traditional lottery services to interactive platforms with LottoSpin offers an exciting new revenue stream and enables operators to reach a much broader audience of players.” |
