Yet another update has become available this week in regards to the developing situation in Israel as additional internet service providers have been served with injunctions from the police ordering them to block access to online casinos. This latest piece of information is far more detrimental to the online gambling industry as a whole, as the ISP providers have said that they intend to comply with the edicts, saying that regardless of the origin of the mandates, until such time that they can be overturned, they intend of following the instructions and banning access to internet casinos on an ISP level.

According to a report by Haaretz news, two additional service providers were served directives just this week. The ban is now also more specific than it had been before, naming certain online gambling websites that must be blocked, and tightening any existing loopholes that had existed in the paperwork’s language. While some legal teams have been consulted there has been no reports of the orders being directly challenged by either the site operators or the service providers. Only one has officially said that they intend to take the matter to court, and in the meantime, 012Smile will comply with the order.

The most recent mandates were given to 013 Netvision, and Bezeq International, both of which said they would comply with the police command. The measures continue, as they have for about a month, after police randomly began handing out the orders. Any requests by companies asking for more time to consider the request have been denied.

"From the legal research that we have conducted, the police are relying on a section of the penal code from which it is very clear that the legislature's intent pertained to physical gambling locations,” said one lawyer representing an ISP on the condition of anonymity. "Even if someone interprets the law to apply to virtual gambling locations, the law provides for shutting the place down, but not barring access to it."
